1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the I-Way Cabs Convoy Driver Duty mobile application (the “App”). The App is intended only for authorised company drivers managing assigned convoy and company duties.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how the App is used, we may collect:
- Driver name, registered mobile number and login/session information.
- Assigned booking, vehicle, duty, route and destination information.
- Precise GPS location, including latitude, longitude, accuracy, speed, bearing and location timestamps.
- Odometer photographs, OCR-detected kilometres and driver-confirmed kilometre readings.
- Starting, destination, return and final ending proof, including its location and time.
- Device identifier and technical information needed for authentication, security and reliable operation.
3. Precise and background location
Background location is required because a convoy duty may continue for several hours or days while the driver uses other applications or keeps the phone locked. Location collection begins when an authorised driver starts a duty. It is used to:
- Show the driver and vehicle location to authorised company administrators.
- Monitor duty progress and support driver and convoy safety.
- Create a route history showing the route travelled.
- Record the location of odometer and destination proofs.
- Verify arrival, return and final trip completion.
4. Camera and photographs
Camera access is used to capture odometer and destination proof photographs. Photographs are uploaded only when the driver takes and submits proof for an assigned duty. The App does not use the camera continuously in the background.
5. How we use information
Information is used for authentication, assignment management, live duty monitoring, route and distance verification, operational records, safety, dispute handling, service improvement and compliance with applicable business or legal requirements.
6. Sharing of information
Duty and location information is available only to authorised I-Way Cabs administrators and personnel who require it for operations. We may use hosting, mapping, SMS and other technical service providers solely to operate the App. We do not sell or rent driver personal information or use precise location for advertising. Information may be disclosed when required by law or to protect safety and legal rights.
7. Data storage, security and retention
We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect stored information. Duty information is retained only for operational, safety, accounting, dispute-resolution and legal purposes. It is deleted or anonymised when it is no longer reasonably required, subject to applicable record-retention obligations.
8. Driver choices and permissions
Drivers can deny or remove camera and location permissions in Android settings. However, starting or completing a duty, uploading odometer proof and live tracking may not function without the required permissions. Drivers should use the App only while performing an authorised duty.
9. Access, correction and deletion requests
A driver may request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information by contacting I-Way Cabs. A deletion request may be limited where information must be retained for an active duty, safety investigation, payment, dispute or legal obligation.
10. Children
The App is a business driver-duty application and is not intended for children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the App, legal requirements or operational practices change. The latest version and effective date will be published on this page.
